Outdoor Watering Information

On June 1, 2010, the "Stewardship Law" was signed by Governor Sonny Perdue. This law changes the terms for outdoor water use on landscaping. The new schedule is:

Landscape watering may be done any day of the week after 4 P.M. and before 10 A.M.

All other outdoor water use (i.e. car washing, etc...) is subject to the following schedule:

Even Addresses - Monday, Wednesday and Saturday - no hourly restrictions.

Odd Addresses - Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday - no hourly restrictions.

Water Conservation

Conservation is a way of life, not just a temporary response to a critical situation.

Simply put, fresh water is limited. Ever increasing populations are putting a strain on this precious resource. See what you can do to maximize your conservation efforts.

The Environmental Protection Division has made an allowance for newly installed landscaping. Effective March 15, 2008, any person or entity watering newly installed landscaping must obtain a certificate from the Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture.
